This year, Barrandov Studio pays tribute to a visionary deed of the film entrepreneur Miloš Havel and architect Max Urban. Ninety years ago, they joined forces, and on 23rd November 1931, on a hill above Prague, they laid the foundation stone for A-B Joint Stock Film Factories construction project - present Barrandov Studio. Their endeavor resulted in a unique functionalist building which became a professional base of the flourishing film industry. The studio’s genius loci impresses filmmakers all over the world till this day.
