The premiere of the post-apocalyptical sci-fi SNOWPIERCER, which has been shot last year in our studios, is expected this autumn. Producers have just revealed some official “concept art” visualization as well as the official poster.
The film is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to
stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet
except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels
around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion
engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution
Snowpiercer is so far the biggest international
production of director Bong Joon-ho, his first film shot in
English language too.
The set was constructed by Barrandov Studios set construction
department. “We built 26 train carriage sets in total. One was
25 meters long so if you put them all together, the total length
would be over 500 meters. I felt totally overwhelmed when I first
saw the massive set,” Bong puts it in the interview for
Korean Cinema Today magazine in the Berlinale special
Although the project is still in post-production (our Film labs
also partly involved), first “concept art” visualization spread out
in the internet
recently. The creators also released the first official poster,
which we bring you here as the illustration. Release date has not
been set yet. However, you can feel the atmosphere of the movie
through these first viral indications too. We are proud of our
contribution to the project.
